Murano by Angela Hartnett is a 1* Michelin star Italian fine-dining restaurant located in a nice quiet street near Green Park, a 5 minute walk from the tube station.

The setting was lovely, all dim lights and a very comfortable atmosphere. Staff were excellent, with great attention to detail given.

We only fleetingly mentioned that we were there to celebrate Marcus’ birthday and were pleasantly surprised when they scrawled a birthday message on his dessert plate. The garçons were very friendly and helpful with the menu. Every dish was properly explained and we were given details of the food every time a dish was served. Also, every time a lady headed to the restroom, there was always a member of staff there to hold open the door for us. Wonderful staff and excellent service, indeed.

Food was good albeit expensive and we were allowed to share. They very kindly served up our courses all divided by two for myself and a friend. The risotto was very good although I do recommend sharing this dish if you’re having it as a main course because the half portion I had was more than enough.

You are allowed to have any combination of starter,main or dessert . So if you like, you could have 2 starters and 2 mains or 2 mains and 2 desserts, as you wish.
